Chuck Philips is the disgraced former journalist who was laid off by the Los Angeles Times following the publication of his story alleging Jimmy Rosemond’s involvement in the 1994 shooting of Tupac Shakur at Quad Recording Studios. After the story’s accompanying documents were exposed as forgeries by The Smoking Gun and the credibility of its sources questioned, the LA Times retracted Philips’ story and settled out of court for damages to Rosemond’s reputation.
